I wanted to begin this blog by sharing my testimony for how I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.
I was raised as a Pastor’s kid, and I loved every second of that. Because of my father’s leadership at home and church, I actually enjoyed going to church – which is something I often see pastor’s kids struggle with. I was blessed to enjoy it then, and by God’s grace, I am still thankful to serve Him and work in the church today. When I was seven years old I “accepted” Christ into my heart. After years of believing I was saved, I came to realize I had yet to fully surrender my life to Christ.
So, in July 2011, I responded to God’s call on my life and He will forever be my Lord and Savior. Since then, I have been blessed beyond measure by God’s continuous grace and mercy. Almost exactly one year after I received Christ, my Father fell at work suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and is still living with the negative effects of that fall to this day. Every year following it seemed my world was wrecked in ways I could have never imagined. Without such a gracious and loving God, I genuinely do not believe I would be here today. I would not be close to graduating from college, I would not have surrendered to the call to full-time ministry, and quite frankly I don’t know if I would even be alive. I am so thankful that I have the privilege to serve such a perfect, loving, gracious, and caring God.
In the summer of 2018, God very clearly called me to a life of serving in vocational ministry, and under the guidance of my parents and church, I surrendered to that call. Since doing so I strive daily to seek and grow in my personal relationship with God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit. Since my surrender, I have had the opportunity to serve, lead, and be led in many churches across the Southeast.
As a graduating senior at Mississippi College, I know that my communications major and Christian Studies minor will help me greatly as I prepare to attend seminary after graduation and ultimately in ministry in a local church.
